Photos - 2003 - Wales and England in April - Portmeirion

Portmeirion is a village and hotel built by a wealthy enthusiastic architect starting in the 1920's. His theory was that architecture should be fun. He designed and built many buildings and rescued others from places around the world where they were destined to be knocked down. The place is well maintained and has a kind of surreal out of the ordinary look about it. The main claim to fame is that it was the site that they filmed The Prisoner, a cult TV series from the 60's.
