Photos - 2003 - Wales and England in April - Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle is the main castle in the city of Cardiff. It belonged to nobles from Scotland for a couple of hundred years as the Welsh lady who owned it married a Scottish nobleman. There are lots of thistle motifs around the castle. There are lots of cute furry animals and birds carved into lots of the decorations as the nobleman who have owned it over the years were quite keen on them. There is a nice tour of the apartments and a Keep in the middle of the castle wall to go and look in. The castle wall is based on roman walls from 100-200AD.
