Once I knew I was going overseas I decided that the pergola and the back yard had to be dealt with. They were dangerous and detracted from the rentability of the property. I removed everything from the back yard, planted some fruit trees, knocked down the pergola and removed the gate. New pergola and gate were erected and the finished result was much improved. Many of my friends came over for the backyard blitz and contributed but Dad helped most with the stuff we were building.
